coffee is my love language.
i love all types of coffee but cold brew always takes the cake!
cold brew coffee is made from coffee beans that have been steeped in cold water for 12 to 24 hours. during this time, the coffee develops its flavor and caffeine content. the steeping process is to ensure you donโt end up with a bitter-tasting coffee. the soluble compounds including the oils and acids that give hot beverages their signature taste and aroma are less easily released in cold water than in hot water, hence the use of more coffee grounds relative to water and a longer infusion time. cold brew coffee is different from your regular iced coffee which is made by pouring hot brewed coffee over ice.
according to a study published by the american chemical society, cold brew coffee has a “slightly lower acidity” than hot brew coffee. as a result of the presence of crude polysaccharides, healthline reports that it can improve the immune response of the digestive system and decrease irritation in the gut.
drink your cold brew black, with a creamer of your choice, or my favorite, almond milk!
